Soo, in one week the Slush will be on. The wet snow will be on the ground again, the main event banner will be up, and the Helsinki streets, not only Maria01 hoods, are having that special Startup Vibe. And this year it seems/feels there are more Side Events than ever, making the whole week pretty Slushy, from Monday to Friday (some rumors say there are some brave ones still out there the following weekend…)
Slush has always been about Side Events and the Slush Week, building a lot of Momentum around the two main “conference” days. This year the Side Events are also pretty well listed (and organised), naturally within the Slush website, but also on two big event platforms Luma and Eventbrite.
Slush on the ground
It is almost magical how the first snow often falls down during the Slush days. This year might not be any different, the forecast says it is few degrees on the minus side. So whatever rains down, will be in a form of snow called Slush. And as Axl Rose sings, it is November Rain…
So, there are events. The Slush Signature Side Events, all the hundreds (!) of Partner- and Community Side Events (plus a few other kind of side events).
No badge, no problem
Slush is again sold out, and many got left out of the Messukeskus -madness again. But most of the Side Events do not require the badge, and also the Side vent Wing (Siipi area, inside the venue) events are mostly free to attend.
It is also important to note that not all the side events happen after hours (or even after dark, which is like 3PM) but also during the day around the main venue and Helsinki city.
