Lemonsqueeze outgrows their office space in Manhattan

The Danish company Lemonsqueeze, who helps companies enter the States has now outgrown their current office space in Manhattan. In order to keep welcoming promising new Scandinavian startups a place to grow their business the company now occupies new office space in Brooklyn.

Lemonsqueeze helps startups with everything from recruiting and managing the right talent, to ensuring control of the corporate culture and that their corporate DNA is rooted in their new US employees.

Since the summer of 2014 the company has experienced a constantly growing demand forcing them to reject several companies, who they otherwise felt had the potential to do business in the US market.

In order to prospectively avoid this unfortunate tendency Lemonsqueeze has had to upscale in several ways.

“Besides hiring additional staff to be responsible for operations, recruitment and management we also needed to look at our infrastructure and thus also our space. We grew out a year ahead of schedule – therefore we also had to pay ourselves out of the current lease,” the Danish founder and CEO Mik Strøyberg explains.

A fivefold increase

Strøyberg recognizes that scaling is always a challenge. However, the continuous growing demand has made them choose a bold and ambitious expansion.

“Due to the tremendous growth we have chosen to “go-all-in” and increase our space fivefold. The space will be the base for our Lemonsqueeze services and act as a Scandinavian showroom for a lot prominent brands,” Mik Strøyberg says

As of the first of May new office space awaits current and future companies in a 10,000 square feet large reconditioned brass factory in Brooklyn. It is placed in the heart of Williamsburg on North 4 and Wythe and the old factory reeks of the original Williamsburg vibe (industrial, urban and creative).

“Right now, we have initiated the refurbishment and we are working hard to create the ultimate base Mik-Strøyberg-150x150for Nordic companies that are prepared to take over the US market. We will move 40 people from Manhattan to Brooklyn and expect to be 100 to 120 people by the end of the year. In the end we expect to be able to hold approximately 200 people,” Strøyberg explains

All the new businesses Lemonsqueeze has started up have sought help in relation to management when entering the new market. Therefor they have got new capacity on board, that focuses on the management part including daily operations, sales training, reporting and strategy.

“This makes it easier for companies to scale at a faster pace. And that is exactly our goal with all the companies. To create value as fast as possible!,” Mik Strøyberg finishes
