Nordic Game, the conference held annually in Malmö, Sweden, has become one of the leading events for the games industry, and each May it gathers thousands of developers, publishers and investors together. But this November, Nordic Game travelled to Helsinki, Finland, for the first time to do a special show as a partner side-event to Slush, enabling the vision of Slush Week to become reality.
So it all kickstarted the evening before at the cozy sauna and restaurant Löyly, where more than 100 attendees met for dinner and networking, hosted by one of the NG22 sponsors Xsolla. The NG22 Helsinki main event then took place on Tuesday-Wednesday 15-16 November at the classic and famous Hotel Kämp in the center of Helsinki, just before the Slush came to town and onto the ground. The Tuesday’s Executive Summit executive events created for leaders of game companies in Finland and the rest of the world. Moderated by Sonja Ängeslevä, CEO & co-founder of Phantom Gamelabs (FI) and Anette Ståløy, CMO at Dirtybit (NO), the discussion was focusing on current challenges, trends and opportunities, getting game developers around squaretables for active discussion and group work.
After the Exec Summit, the doors opened for the Publisher Market, hosted by Nordic Game in partnership with MeetToMatch. Publisher Market provided developers with the chance to submit their projects for all in all 38 meetings with a string of leading game publishers.
NG22 Helsinki concluded on 16 November with an entire day of business meetings between the more than 400 registered attendees. This resulted in 353 meetings during a very hectic day, being a great premiere for Slush 2022.
