Tine Thygesen has decided to change course – after eight years as a CEO she now becomes marketing manager for the upcoming Danish startup Colego.
So announces Tine Thygesen in her own blog. In the blog post, she tells that she has decided to devote her talents to Colego, where she will lead a marketing and communication team of eight people.
Back in December, Tine Thygesen announced that she needed a reflection period and therefore had decided to withdraw from Everplaces. She needed the reflection period, to find the thing she wanted to channel her passion and skills into.
She decided to go with Colego, an internet platform, where residential users as well as businesses can obtain offers on various tasks. The company recently received a $2,150,000 investment from Northcap Partners. The investment has been used to increase the team as well as help the expansion into Germany and the other European markets in the long run.
Internationalizing companies is the ultimate challenge
The planned expansion was one of the things that helped convince Tine Thygesen that she had to be a part of the company.
“Tech is global, and that is the best part of it. In a few weeks we will launch Colego on the German market, and I have a chance to play a central role in the development of the go-to-market strategy. I have internationalized different companies a couple of times before in previous roles, and I see it as the ultimate challenge,” says Tine Thygesen.
Tine Thygesen recognize that there will be a transition period when moving from being a CEO to more of a specialised position. She looks forward to being allowed to re-use her core competences for marketing and communication.
“My job at Colego is mainly to create a recognizable brand and use it to bring enough traffic, convert this into tasks and hereby create the fuel for the company’s engine. It is a rare luxury for me to be able to focus on only one side of the business, and be able to dive into commercialization with all its facets.”
