Nordic businesses represented their region on Deloitte’s EMEA Fast500 List in 2015, with Swedish based iZettle as runner up, Norwegian Clean Marine and Etrinell in the top ten, and six of fourteen Icelandic companies on the country’s Fast50 making it to the Fast500.
Earlier this week, Deloitte announced the fourteenth Fast500 List for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The list includes over twenty countries and all the Nordics have companies on the list this year with Norway representing one in every ten of the fastest growing companies in the region with two in the top ten and a total of 50 companies on the list. Swedish PoS company iZettle was runner up while Dutch based catawiki is the fastest growing company in the EMEA region this year according to the ranking.
As reported on Nordic Startup Bits earlier this year, Deloitte announced the launch of Fast50 in Iceland for the first time in 2015. For this first round of Fast50 in Iceland, fourteen companies made it to the list, with Thula Nordic Source Solutions getting the 1st spot with an annual growth of 3852% and Meniga and AppDynamic following in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Six of the fourteen companies on Iceland’s Fast50 went on to make it to the EMEA Fast500 based on their growth in turnover. That makes more companies from Iceland than from Austria (1), Denmark (4), Greece (1), and Portugal (5).
“We are extremely happy and proud of the success of the Icelandic Fast50 companies. Especially when looking at the international context where Iceland has more companies on the EMEA Fast500 list than many larger nations. We hope that their participation and this international promotion will help them succeed. We’re looking forward to next year’s Fast50 list,” says Sigurdur Pall Hauksson, CEO of Deloitte in Iceland.”
