The Butterfly Effect: Belightful Butterfly wins Boost Turku Startup Journey 2015

Earlier this month, Boost Turku accelerator found it winners for its yearly summer edition of Startup journey. The Finnish accelerator provides a two months summer program for teams whom want to transform their ideas into businesses.

The nine teams selected receive support, coaching and eventually a prize . This year, Boost Turku has decided to
double up. In prizes.

The jury has in fact decided to split the first prize in two, finding two winners:  Belightful Butterly and Identio.

Belightful Butterly, co-winner of Startup Journey 2015 is a design butterfly feeder to place in balconies or outdoor areas. What’s the rationale behind this idea? Tania Tallala, CMO at  Belightful explained that in the last 25 years, there has been a 50 % decline in the European  butterfly population: “Belightful provides an aesthetic and easy way to support butterflies, and to enjoy a nature experience in your own back yard.”

The designer feeder contains a ready-to-use nectar capsule where butterfly can find nourishment. The project  includes a digital network and community where it is possible to receive  educational content and information about the role of butterflies in our ecosystem.
